This explains what Rentagree collects, why, and who handles it. It is written to match what the site actually does.

What stays on your device

• The answers you type in the questions (names, addresses, rent, dates) are kept in your browser tab's session storage. They are not sent to our servers to make the preview or the PDF.
• Aadhaar and PAN numbers are held in page memory only, used to build the PDF on your device, and never stored or sent to us.

What we store when you start a payment

An order record with: the payment gateway order and payment ids, the plan and amount, your state and city, the status (started, closed, failed, paid), timestamps, how many times it was downloaded or emailed, a one-way hash of your email address, and a one-way hash of a random session id. We do not store your name, address, phone number, Aadhaar or PAN.

Cookies and similar storage

• Essential: a random session cookie and, after payment, a signed cookie that unlocks your download for 24 hours. These are needed for payment and download to work.
• Your cookie choice is stored in your browser's local storage.
• Analytics, only if you accept: anonymous step counts (for example how many people reach the preview), tied to a random id that lasts for the browser tab. If we have configured Google Analytics or PostHog, the same events are also sent to them. These events describe actions such as reaching a step, choosing a plan or completing a purchase. Choose "Essential only" and none of this is sent. You can change your choice with "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Who else handles data

• Razorpay processes payments and receives the name, email and phone number you give at checkout.
• Supabase hosts our order records.
• Resend sends email, only if you ask for a copy. That copy contains the agreement text including names and addresses, with Aadhaar and PAN masked.
• Vercel hosts the website and sees ordinary request data such as IP address.
• Google Analytics and PostHog, only if you accepted analytics and we have enabled them. Google Analytics runs in a consent-based mode with advertising features off. Events never include your name, contact details or ID numbers.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as needed for accounting, tax and dispute handling. Anonymous analytics events are kept for up to 12 months. [Confirm these periods with your accountant before launch.]

Your rights

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about an order, correct it, or delete it. Because we store hashes, we need your order id or the email address to find it. Write to support@rentagree.in. You may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational.

Children

The service is for adults entering rental agreements and is not directed at children.
